Short description

In recent years quite a number of bronze objects have been excavated in different countries of Southeast Asia. For instance bronze instruments have an amazing continuity and are still played up to nowadays. So crossing borders between countries as well as disciplines including archaeologists, art historians, anthropologists, musicologists, and metallurgists may help to fill some gaps in the early history of metal artefacts in Southeast Asia. Development of its form, ornament, condition of the metal, patina, composition of alloys, exchange patterns will be discussed and its integration in present day music and ritual.
